Shasta AutoX Challenge Series July Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments
July’s event is in the books – I appreciate everyone who braved the heat and came out for a fun day of racing with the Trinity Touring Club.  We had a great group and had several folks who ran for time in the morning and then for fun in the afternoon – that six-week break between races was a bit too long!  Complete event and Season to Date results are posted at https://trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/  – please let me know if anything is amiss with the numbers.  I’ll have some new photos published soon.
Our next club meeting is Tuesday, August 15th at Players Pizza in Anderson, and our next points race is Sunday, August 20th.  The Siskiyou Sports Car Club in Medford is having their July event this coming weekend under the lights and I believe the car raffle for the prepared RX7 will occur as well.  Links to the SSCC website and other neighboring club autocross info is now updated at https://trinitytouringclub.com/more-info/
If you were at the event and are missing a chair, a stainless steel coffee mug, or sunglasses, please reach out to me to claim them or they go on eBay!
I hope to see you at next month’s race.

2017 Shasta AutoX Challenge Series Race #5 – Sunday, July 23rd

By | Uncategorized | No Comments
I hope everyone is ready for summertime autocross racing with the Trinity Touring Club!  Our fifth points race of the 2017 “Shasta AutoX Challenge Series” is this Sunday, July 23rd.
Track setup is at 7pm on Saturday – please come out and help us get the facility prepared for this Sunday’s race.  Troy Dewell is our Race Director and will bring us maps for setup.
Gates open at 7:30am on Sunday with driver’s meeting at 9am.  Entry fee is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.  Please arrive early enough to complete your registration, safety inspection, and to walk the track.  Novice racers are welcome!  As it is going to be a hot day, we will do all we can to start on time and keep things moving – help us out by arriving early!
Downtown Dogs will be serving lunch – please support our vendor by bringing your appetite and a little extra cash!  The club will have cold water, the big Porta Cool (thanks Danny!), and shade on hand to beat the heat.
Updates
1.  Helmets:  We are purchasing 5 new helmets with the latest 2015 certification.  These helmets will be available to rent for $1 and we will hang onto your driver’s license until it is returned.  We will be enforcing the 2005 or better helmet rule going forward, so if your helmet doesn’t comply, you can use one of ours for a dollar.  What a deal!
2.  T-Shirts:  2017 TTC club t-shirts are available for $15 each.  Pick up an extra and help raise money for the club!  We are out of Mediums but have all other sizes.

3.  Recycling:  Cat and Gary have a plan to collect our recyclables.  Look for the dedicated bins!  We’ll call it out in the driver’s meeting as well.
4.  Classifieds:  Are you a member of the club and have something car or racing related to sell?  Send me an email with the details and a link to your Craigslist or eBay item, and I will send it out to our general mailing list.  This is for your personal automotive items only, no commercial ventures or dining room tables please.
Please reach out with any questions, and I hope to see you at the track this weekend!
